Dear Everyone,
I wanted to thank you for your continued support. I am finishing the new book I’m working on and hoping to share it with you later this year.
Lent begins early this year, on February 14th. I am organizing a Lenten Readalong of “The Way of a Pilgrim.” This book is one of my favourites and it’s mentioned in “Gabriel’s Redemption.” “The Way of a Pilgrim” is a nineteenth century work of Russian Orthodox spirituality, in which a pilgrim learns how to pray. This is a gentle story, as we accompany the unnamed pilgrim through Russia, but it is profoundly inspirational. There is more than one edition of it, but I’m using this one, which is translated by RM French, and has a foreword by Huston Smith. I have the paperback, but you can easily use the Kindle edition.
I am proposing that we read the first chapter during the first week of Lent. I’ll be posting weekly reflections here and inviting you to read along with me and share your comments.
Peace be with all of you and thank you for reading,
SR.
Terrific!
You can’t imagine how many times I’ve decided to read this book. So I am so glad you chose this one. Of course I’ll join you. I can’t wait to start!… And I’m so looking forward to your new book too! Thank you so much for writing! Have a beautiful and blessed weekend, dear SR. Peace be with you and your loved ones. ❤

I truly appreciate these read alongs, SR. Your selections are always top notch! And, I am so looking to your new book. An extremely busy schedule pulled me away from reading for a time, but the Gabriel series (and then the Florentine series and TMITBS) pulled me back in. Thank you for that!
Thank you, Alayna.
I’m very grateful for your support.
All the best and Happy New Year, SR

My spiritual journey is not an easy one SR.
However, I’ll be joining your read along.

As I reflect on my personal solitude, I realize the need for it has had highs and lows. When I was young and raising a family there was little opportunity for it. When I became a minister, it was an essential! You can’t write a good sermon without solitude. As I grew older and became a widow, some days I have more solitude than I want. There is however the blessing of long conversations with the Lord without interruptions. It’s best to end my prayer by saying “Lord, what do you want to say to me?”
Thanks very much, Pastor Ginny.
I really appreciate your sharing this reflection.
Long conversations with God without interruptions are truly a blessing.
All the best, SR
