Dear Sylvain,
Just pulled an all-nighter finishing the novel. Unfortunately as head over heels as I was of Gabriel’s Inferno, I didn’t feel quite as much vibes from Gabriel’s Rupture.
Maybe other readers can confirm or disagree on this, but I felt that in general, the pacing in this novel is much slower than its predecessor, and it’s much more emotionally draining (in a both good and bad way). Yes, it’s incredibly engaging and kept me reading on and on, but at least for me, I couldn’t fully enjoy book because I was too emotionally worked up over the sheer injustice in the university’s politics and a certain very vicious and vindictive graduate student. I was too way busy thinking about how much I’d like to punch the Dean and Christa in the face than to actually sit down and enjoy the book slowly. And don’t get me wrong, Gabriel’s the amazing sex god as usual, but the steamy scenes gets tiring after a while, and I found myself skipping ahead very quickly just to see what happened next.
Will there be another sequel? On one hand I hope not, since I don’t think my heart can handle another half year of anxious anticipation; on the other hand, there are still a few loose ends that could be tied up (like poor Paul, I hope he finds someone nice), and I could never get tired of the Professor. Incidentally, I demand an addendum, an epilogue in which Christa and Natalie trip and fall off a cliff, right into a giant pile of cow manure and permanently ruin their maneating faces. (Seems like a very fitting punishment)
All and all, still a very heart felt and touching story. I’m very happy to read the continuing story of Professor and Julia after such a long wait. Thank you for another piece of awesome (albeit somewhat upsetting at times) work. =)

Dear SR,
I too stayed up until the wee hours of the morning to devour Gabriel’s Rapture. I cannot thank you enough for the gift of those precious hours and the torturous delight reading GR gave to me. I, too wanted to scream at and punch and kick and maim certain characters, but I was so wrapped up in both Julia’s and Gabriel’s personal journeys and transformations that I found myself lost in the novel for hours, not realizing it was late and my entire family had long abadoned me and gone to bed.
I have already told you this, but I strongly feel it bears repeating since it is probably one of my favorite parts of the novel … you, dear sir, are a sticky little leaf that has gifted us with your kindness for others, your passion for painting a story rather than just telling it, and your undeniable gift for words. I feel the world is a much better place with you in it and your novels have made many, many people very happy.

I just discovered Gabriel’s Inferno and finished reading it today… I was wondering about the second book and found the link on your website b/c I couldn’t track it anywhere else. Needless to say, I’ve purchased it and will be indulging my self in reading it tonight!!! Thank You!

Whoa! *looks around* Absolutely LOVE the new look! I feel like one of the luckiest people in the world having found you and the Professor. Huge hugs SR! Thanks for GI and Gabriel’s Rapture. They’re both unforgettable…like you. Xo

WOW, wasn’t expecting the new look. Very cool! I may have felt a breeze as I walked in here. Niiiice. As for me I am astounded at the folks who actually read this book in one night. I’m sorry I’ve waited too long to devour it that quickly, especially because I know with every read I am going to see something new, I know I would have missed a lot reading that quickly–but alas, to each their own. I also think if you are tired you are missing a lot as well. Speed reading is fine for school but your books deserved to be devoured slowly. ehehe
Anyway, I am totally enjoying it so far! This has been a special year and week because of you good sir. Thank you for your gifts of word and your magical presence.
Hugs
Mistie

@BlueDaizy, I totally agree with you, but I just had to blow through it the first time around to find out what happened, so that I can sit through the book a second time patiently appreciating the details.
BlueDaizy says
Oh I understand, believe me I thought about staying up but I was like “I’ve waited for this too long to blow through it.” It matters not, since we can read it forever now. ehehe

Looks wonderful here SR! Like others, I am taking the book slowly to savor it. You do that with superb wines, and delicious chocolates, and amazing sex, so I think this book falls into that category as well! Thank you for a book deserving a meticulous read. As always, friend, well done! Pat

I too read it in a little over 24 hours. Like others, I also would like to punch the board. Christa and Nat need way more punishment than a punch. I would like to see Nat publicly humiliated at the hands of Simon and his stuck up family. Then I would like to see his family humiliated by his past deeds. Christa needs a karma event. She didn’t get whats coming to her in this book. I think Paul will be ok and may end up returning to his old girlfriend now that he is running the farm (albeit temporarily).
I also would like to keep the story going, but realize all good things must come to an end. Thank you SR for sharing this beautiful story with us and for opening a new interest for me. I may start looking into studying Dante and others. You have made everything seem so beautiful. And now Florence is on my bucket list – especially the Uffizi.
The new website looks beautiful. Wonderful job K!

Congrats, SR! Ordered my copy today. Is there a possibility of getting a bookplate? I know you said there was, but I haven’t seen any notices.
Enjoyed the companion video that was posted on FB, too!

I just finished Gabriel’s Rapture this morning. It was an amazing sequel to Gabriel’s Inferno. Having read Dante in college I am now excited to reread his works.
It does seem like Gabriel and Julia’s story isn’t finished. Will there be a sequel?
Thank your writing and attention to classic literature.
Alejandra Rodriguez says

Can anyone help me? I can’t seem to find an e-book version of Gabriel’s Rapture ANYWHERE online. All the links posted even on this site take me to an Amazon error page where the link is not found. Has this book been pulled? I just finished Gabriel’s Inferno which I purchased from Amazon and now can’t find the sequel anywhere. I am so excited to start reading it and frustrated that it’s nowhere to be found.
Can someone please shed some light on this for me?
Thanks

I was skeptical reading Inferno before,it was in my reader for quite long time. But suddenly I have urgency to read about Professor and his Julianne…and am drowning…right in front of my reader.
I never experienced such reading until dawn and forget everything, but you did that to me….How can a so very romantic man cannot be real in my life? I feel like I want my very own private Gabriel, who feed me, care for me, love me…it’s like Julianne was a damn luckiest girl in the universe….
I read it, feel it, and am inside the book, just like am melting and being them….Professor and campus cannot be that sexy enough… Gabriel made it sexy, smart is sexy, and along with that….loving someone without just focus on sex, is sexy indeed…
I love the quotes….can we love without sin?
That was incredible….
